Ingredients

3/4oz Honeyshine Amber Rum from De Vine

1/2oz Frangelico

1/2oz Tonka Bean Simple Syrup

3 Drops General Ambrose’s Aromatic Bitters from Apothecary

1oz Mile Zero Espresso

Method

Brew espresso and gently stir in all other ingredients being careful not to ruin the créma on top of the espresso. Serve in small espresso cups and garnish with a grating of tonka beans.

Tonka Bean Simple Syrup

1 cup White Sugar

1 cup Water

2 Tonka Beans Finely Grated, Sourced from The Silk Road Spice Merchant Based in Calgary

Bring water, sugar, and tonka beans to a simmer, stirring constantly until all the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is a dark rich brown. Let cool and steep for at least 1 hour and then strain into a clean glass jar. The simple syrup can be stored in the fridge for up to one month.
